Gary Mallett – Senior Lawyer

CoolangattaGary joined Wiltshire Lawyers as a senior family lawyer in August 2011. Gary has 25 years experience practising Family Law. He achieved a Bachelor of Laws degree with honors in 1993 after studying externally through Queensland University of Technology whilst employed as an articled clerk. Gary was also awarded the North Queensland Law Association Bursary for the highest tertiary results for a North Queensland Law Student in his first year of study in 1987. Gary practises in all aspects of family law litigation, including property settlement and parenting matters, child support and department of child safety matters and domestic violence hearings. Gary regularly prepares Binding Financial Agreements and can also assist with wills and estate planning issues on the breakdown of relationships. In 2000 Gary acted in a prominent case which specifically dealt with child safety issues and psychiatric illness. This case was the subject of the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association Civil Justice Award and set an important precedent in Queensland dealing with the safety of children and the effects of depression. Gary has developed a vast knowledge and understanding of cases involving parties who suffer depression, stress and anxiety.
